Ghost's eccentricity might have raised eyebrows among people who find offense in the portrayal of Satanism in the band's songs and performances; however, it has grown its fanbase over the years. Influenced by classic rock, extreme underground metal bands of the '80s, and emotional harmonic music, the band has developed a unique sound that is mainly categorized into many genres. Some critics classify Ghost's sound as hard rock, doom metal, heavy metal, occult rock, and arena rock, among many others.
Over the years, the band has released five albums. The latest of which is "Imperia," a 12-track album released in 2022 and has officially reached gold certification in Swedish Recording Industry Association. The album also peaked in the charts in several territories, including the US, Spain, Germany, Norway, New Zealand, Finland, and others. With hit singles like "Hunter's Moon" and "Call Me Little Sunshine," the album indeed lived up to the standards of Ghost's previous albums.
This summer, Ghost's newest tunes will be brought into some lucky venues in the country. Kicking off at Concord, California, this August, the band will embark on a 27-date tour all over the US for their summer tour dubbed "Re-Imperatour." The band, led by the Tobias Forge, will stop at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on September 2, Saturday, to give their Texas fans a taste of their music. They will be joined by another Swedish band, Amon Amarth, who is known for its portrayal of Vikings and Norse mythology in their songs. Amon Amarth will open the show, and fans can expect to hear their biggest hits, including "Dawn of Norsemen," "Oden Owns You All," "Skagul Rides with Me," and "Saxons and Vikings," among many others.
