New Kids On The Block is an award-winning American boy band that brought you the hit and nostalgic tunes of "Please Don't Go" and "Step by Step." They may not be the first boy band to appear in the scene, but they sure set the power of five in an influential spur of charm and talent. The band is composed of iconic members with each of their character templates, like the heartthrob Jordan Knight, the charming Joey McIntyre, the older brother figure Danny Wood, the bad boy of the group Donnie Wahlberg, and the sensitive one Jonathan Knight. Their career may seem like they popped from their first hit, but they sure did go through some rocky phases. Even when their first album flopped, they didn't stop making music, and it wasn't long before their next project became a big hit. The tightly choreographed routines, the air grabs, ripped jeans, teased hairdos, stylish hats, and cool vocals became a staple to the industry's perfected boy band formula.

The group was signed to a record label in 1986, choosing the name of New Kids On The Block from one of Donnie Wahlberg's singles. Their first eponymous album didn't do much to scratch the surface in the charts, but in 1988, the band released "Please Don't Go Girl," and they became the talk of the town. They generated a steady fanbase and continued their momentum, touring in local concert venues, shopping malls, and telethons and eventually touring the country, opening for other big stars and performers. The group's second album, "Hangin' Tough," was released in 1989, and it went on to become a multi-platinum best-seller.

From this significant milestone, it was smooth sailing, continuing to produce hit after hit. "Step by Step" became the boy band's largest-selling album to date, with three million copies sold in America and another 16 million worldwide. In 1990, the group won two American Music Awards and a Grammy nomination. By 1991, they became the highest-paid entertainer of the year. Disbanding in 1994, the group reunited in 2008 and still continued to top the charts from one single to another. Since reuniting, the band has gone on to tour to sold-out arenas worldwide.

The legendary quintet remains one of the most iconic personalities in the music industry. This year, they announced that they will be embarking on another tour dubbed "The Magic Summer 2024 Tour." They'll be joined by singer and dancer Paula Abdul and multimedia record producer DJ Jazzy Jeff at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion this 13th of July. It's going to be the most exciting part of your year with more surprises up ahead, so better mark those calendars and buy your tickets now!
